We can't scrub out stains (chocolate on my white linen dress). I tried. We have to soak them out.
We can't scrub at our sins, our transgressions, our failures. We need to soak in the presence of God. It takes time, the cleansing.
But sometimes its the only way to be sure of our adequacy, our glorious beauty.
To see our reflection in his loving gaze - and to know ourselves as worthy.
To stay long enough in his presence to be absorbed into him, cleansed by his grace. Transfigured and restored - and white. White again, without blemish.
